Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Thailand

Chiang Mai and Chonburi Locations

Requirements and Restrictions

Any age from approximately 5 and up can participate.

Weight: Maximum weight of 125 kg (275 lbs.). However, our zip lines and rigging systems are engineered to hold much more than this and greatly exceed international standards.

Height: Minimum height of 1 meter (3 feet 3 inches) tall to fill the harness.

Fitness levels vary by person, but although the zipline tour is very exciting it is not physically demanding. Short hikes, some climbing stairs, but most people should be fine.

Pregnant women should not zip line, primarily because you are in a harness. Please consult a medical professional before attempting adventure activities during your pregnancy.

You are led by experienced guides who ensure you are properly connected to the safety equipment at all times. We are the only jungle canopy adventure in Southeast Asia designed and built by international experts and spend considerable time on safety training.

Hours of Operation

The sites open at 6:00 am and closes when the final group has completed their tour, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.

If it should look like rain during a flight, we still go for it and it can add to the fun. There is raingear for sale for a minimal charge.

Families & Children

Children should go. There is not a minimum age but we do have a minimum height of 1 meter (3 feet 3 inches) tall to fit in the harness properly. Young children are often taken in tandem with a guide.

Food and Drink:

We offer vegetarian options.

We will provide water, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. Any food must fit securely in a pocket.

Snacks are for sale as are various beverages including water.

Fear of Heights

Don’t worry, most people are! The 1st and 2nd platforms are created to ease the fear in people's minds. Most people, even the people with a great fear of heights, feel comfortable a bit after they start. The course is about 70-80 meters at the highest. The views, the safety equipment and the professional guides all help assure a comfort level.

Large Groups, School Groups & Orphanages

Large groups are welcome. Please contact us through our inquiry form and tell us what you are thinking and we will contact you shortly after.

Group Size

While on the course, each group will not exceed 9 guests for both safety and guest comfort. At least two Sky Rangers will accompany each group.

Chiang Mai: There is no need to bring a camera because we have installed a Flight of the Gibbon Adventure Picture system on our zip line course.  You can also rent a GoPro HD video camera to capture the whole experience. Due to safety regulations, Sky Ranger Guides are not permitted to take photos using guest cameras.

Chonburi: Guests are allowed to bring cameras, however, cameras must be securely attached to the guest. FOTG is not liable for damage, loss or theft. Sky Ranger Guides reserve the right to remove any item from the course that they decide is unsafe. Due to safety regulations, Sky Ranger Guides are not permitted to take photos using guest cameras.

Complimentary air-conditioned vans run round trip from lodging accommodations in Chiang Mai and Pattaya and from centrally located stops in Bangkok. Guests returned to pick up location at conclusion. 60 minutes to either location (longer for Chonburi from Bangkok, depending on traffic).

Driving Yourself

Chiang Mai: This is discouraged for our Chiang Mai location. We ask that you NOT drive to Mae Kampong.

Chonburi: If you are in the Bangkok & Pattaya area, then yes you may drive, although our vans are free. Our tours are located near the Khao Kheow Open Safari Park and relatively easy to find. See the directions and map from Bangkok to Chonburi or map from Pattya to Chonburi. Sorry, we cannot offer a discount for people driving themselves.

Lockers are provided free of charge. Sky Rangers have the final say on what items can be carried with each guest while on the course for safety reasons.

Waiver & Release

Each guest is required to sign a waiver and release of liability prior to the Tour on location.  Minors are required to have a parent or guardian sign the waiver and release.

What should I bring or not bring?

  • Flip flops and loose fitting shoes are not allowed. If you must wear them, we will strap them to your feet.
  • Comfortable clothing is encouraged.
  • The weather can be hot and/or rainy.  Please check for conditions, which can vary greatly as the day progresses.
