Flight of the Gibbon is a Zipline course through the treetops of the exotic Thailand rain forest. Including a combination of Ziplines of various length (one of Southeast Asia’s longest Ziplines), rappelling/assisted abseil, rope bridges, double Zipline, forest walks and rainforest/wildlife education. The price includes pick-up and drop off in our air-conditioned vans, lunch and an extra activity (please check our “what’s included” section further down the page). The tour takes approximately 7 hours from pick-up to drop off.

We do not really limit by age here at Flight of the Gibbon. The only requirements are that participants need to be at least 1 meter (3 feet, 3 inches) tall to fit into the harness properly and cannot be more than 125 kg (275 Ibs). We regularly have guests as young as 5 years old and up to 70 (we once had an 84-year-old guest complete our course).

Fitness?
In regards to fitness we have some short walks through the rainforest that are approximately 10 minutes in duration. If you can walk up two flights of stairs without stopping for a rest, you should be fine.

Can I do the course if I have a pre-existing medical condition?
Please understand that past or present medical conditions may mean that you should not participate in this experience. Flight of the Gibbon strongly advises prospective guests with past or present medical conditions to check with a doctor prior to booking an activity with us. Our staff are not trained medical professionals and cannot assess the implications of Flight of the Gibbon activities on your medical condition.

Can I do the course if I’m pregnant?
Flight of the Gibbon does not allow pregnant women to take part. The harness goes across your stomach and holds the entire weight of your body.

Zipline course locations
Flight of the Gibbon has two course locations, at Chiang Mai and Chonburi. Our course locations were chosen specifically for their beautiful, secluded and unique rainforest environment.

Our Chonburi course picks up from Bangkok or Pattaya and is situated approximately 1 hour from Pattaya and 1 hour 15 minutes from Bangkok. The course is inside Khao Kaeo Safari Park and on the borders of Chompoo Wildlife Reserve.

Chiang Mai
For Chiang Mai, we will pick you up in an air-conditioned minivan from any hotel located within the borders of Chiang Mai City and drop you back at your hotel at the end of the adventure.

Alternative drop off locations in Chiang Mai
If you wish to be dropped off at Chiang Mai Airport or anywhere inside Chiang Mai city limits, please just let us know in advance and we can organize this for you.

Can I drive myself?
As an eco-friendly tourism company, we would like to discourage people from driving themselves and instead join one of our vans to reduce pollution. Also, there is very limited parking space at the course location and the van transportation is included in the Zipline price.

**All pick-up times for every location are approximate, depend on traffic and we also pick-up other guests if you have a small group. So please allow a 30 minute window for our drivers to get to you. We really appreciate your understanding as unfortunately this is not an exact science. Just relax, grab a tea or coffee, and you will soon be on your way to the treetops.

For our Chonburi location, we pick-up from Bangkok and Pattaya using air-conditioned minivans.

Bangkok
For Bangkok, the traffic is quite heavy so we have three set locations where we pick up from:

  1. In front of Dusit Thani Hotel, Silom at 08.00 only
  2. In front of Ariyasom Villa Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 1 at 06.30 or 09.30
  3. At Khaosan Road – In front of Sawasdee Khaosan Inn at 06.00 or 09.00

** If you have a group of 4 people or more traveling from Bangkok we can send an extra van to pick you up from your hotel.

Pattaya
For Pattaya, we will pick you up from any hotel located within the borders of Pattaya City and drop you back at your hotel at the end of the adventure.

Our pick-up times for Pattaya are:
07.00

**All pick-up times for every location are approximate, depend on traffic and we also pick-up other guests as well if you have a small group. So please allow a 30 minute window for our drivers to get to you. We really appreciate your understanding as unfortunately this is not an exact science. Just relax, grab a coffee, and you will soon be on your way to the treetops.

Alternative drop off locations in Bangkok or Pattaya
If you are being picked up in Bangkok and wish to be dropped off in Pattaya or vice versa we can organize a private van for you at a cost of 2,500THB. Unfortunately, our vans are usually full with guests so we can’t change you from your van to a different van going to a different location. Also, you will probably have luggage so you will need more space.

Can I drive myself?
As an eco-friendly tourism company, we would like to discourage people from driving themselves and instead join one of our vans to reduce pollution. The van transportation is included in the Zipline price. However, if you do wish to drive yourself we can offer you a 200THB discount per person.

Flight of the Gibbon is a great experience in all types of weather. The course remains open and it’s business as usual in most weather conditions. We will only stop during strong winds or thunderstorms.

We are still open during rain and this actually adds to the fun as Thailand is generally very warm most of the year – the rain is actually very nice and refreshing. The birds and wildlife also seem to come alive during the rain, and it is much more pleasant to see the rainforest in its natural state. We recommend you bring a raincoat, however we do sell rainwear and waterproof bags onsite at reasonable prices.

**The decision to stop your Zipline adventure due to adverse weather is entirely up to our onsite Safety/Operations Manager. Remember, your safety is our number one priority! We will offer refunds or we will reschedule your booking accordingly.

You can reschedule or change an existing booking up to 24 hours before your scheduled time (subject to availability). If you cancel up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled time you will be fully refunded. After 48 hours you can cancel with a 50% fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and no-shows will forfeit their fee. To cancel or reschedule, just call us on +66 53 010 660 (international phone) or 053 010 660 (Thailand phone) or email at info@treetopasia.com.

Our prices are set and we do not offer discounts for students, children, seniors, etc. We have some specials that run all year round and some that are seasonal. Please check our Specials Page to see what’s on offer right now!

We have a maximum group size of 9 people per group to keep things a little more personal. Each group will have two instructors, or Sky Rangers as we like to call them. They are there to keep you safe and point out everything unique and interesting throughout your forest adventure.

There will always be one Sky Ranger to clip you onto the Zipline and send you to the next platform. A second Sky Ranger will always be waiting for you on the next platform to help you land safely and to secure you to the next safety cable. You will never clip or unclip yourself throughout the whole journey. Your Sky Rangers will do this for you and are responsible for your safety.

Flight of the Gibbon has some of the highest safety standards in Asia for Zipline courses. We use European safety equipment and our Sky Rangers have completed extensive training programs. Flight of the Gibbon Chiang Mai is the only Zipline in Asia certified by the American Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). Please see our safety page for more details.

Yes, we supply insurance to all our guests for our Zipline courses and also the van transportation to and from the Zipline location.

Unfortunately, Ziplining is not a spectator sport and our Zipline course is spread throughout the Thai rainforest where there is nowhere to watch from the ground. If you do have guests come along who do not wish to Zipline we charge 800THB for transportation, activity and lunch. Please just let us know in the comments when you book and pay cash for the non-flyers when you arrive. Sorry we do not offer babysitting services for children.

Yes, we are a great activity for groups, schools, yearly office parties, team building and more. Please contact our friendly call center for more information.

Please remember you will be in a full body harness suspended high up above the ground, so dress appropriately but comfortably. We recommend sports shoes or other shoes that will not drop off easily. Please do not wear flip flops or wear unnecessary or dangling jewelry.
From November to March it is a little cold in Chiang Mai in the mornings (yes, it gets cold in Thailand), so please bring something to keep yourself warm until the day heats up.
From May to October it is the rainy season in Thailand so please bring a raincoat and/or a change of clothes (we sell rainwear onsite at reasonable prices). It doesn’t rain every day during the rainy season, but it’s good to be prepared.
Please bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent if you are sensitive. Generally, there are not many mosquitos, but it’s good to be prepared.
Hats can be worn to and from the course however a helmet must be worn by every guest while on the course.
**We have a small shop on-site where you can purchase refreshments, ice creams, raincoats, souvenirs, etc.

It’s a good idea to bring a camera to catch the action! Please make sure it fits in your pocket or can be securely attached to your body.  In Chiang Mai we also provide a photography service (for a reasonable fee) and you can also hire a GoPro HD video camera for 1,500THB for the day which includes a USB to take home (not available in Chonburi). Sky Rangers are not permitted to take photos for you as they are busy concentrating on keeping you and your group safe.

We have secure storage lockers available, free of charge, large enough to fit handbags, small backpacks and valuables. If your bag is too big for the locker you can store it in our office in view of our CCTV cameras, however Flight of the Gibbon is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

Don’t worry, most people are. Our Zipline courses are structured to ease you into the whole experience. Also, once you see our safety standards, procedures and equipment in action it will greatly put you at ease. Even people with a great fear of heights feel comfortable to continue soon after starting. We have many guests who have overcome their fear of heights with us.

Chiang Mai
We have a family of four wild Gibbons living inside our Zipline course in Chiang Mai. Chances are you will hear them and if you’re lucky you will probably see them frolicking in the trees. If you really want to see and hear them we recommend our early morning 06.30 booking as gibbons are more active and vocal in the mornings.

Chonburi (Bangkok/Pattaya)
Our Chonburi Zipline course is located within Khao Kheow Safari Park and they have a gibbon exhibit with several gibbons that you will definitely see as part of your Flight of the Gibbon Zipline experience.

** (side note) gibbons are apes, not monkeys!

We do have a limited menu to accommodate the above mentioned food preferences. Please let us know in the comments when you make your booking so we can accommodate your needs and let you know what is available. You are also welcome to bring your own food if you have a specialized diet.
