Thai Massages

What To Expect:

thai-massage-1Thai massage is known by many names including Thai Yoga, Nuat Pa-Bo-Ran and Traditional Thai Massage. Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha founded this healing art in India. He is greatly respected to this day and is known as the “The Father of Medicine” in Thailand. Much of the history of Thai massage remains uncertain as many of the records of this art were destroyed by war. As a result, the knowledge has been handed down orally for centuries.

Traditional Thai medicine is an important part of Thai culture and especially the health care system. In recent decades Thai massage had lost its popularity because of the influence of western culture and the introduction of western therapy treatments. Today, however, traditional Thai massage is seeing a revival due to the growing interest of Thai citizens and foreigners alike.

The root of Thai massage lies in India and is based on the belief that “sen”, or energy lines and acupressure points, influence the body’s functioning. Thai massage removes blockages from these lines in order to improve health. Thai medicine heals the body holistically, in contrast to Western medicine that focuses diagnoses on the individual diseased parts of the body, rather than the whole patient – body, mind, and spirit.

thai-massage-2There are two styles of Thai massage; the Southern Style is considered more vigorous, while the Northern Style is described as gentle. By nature, Thai massage is strong, but not punishing. While in the States massages often run between $60 and $120, in Thailand a 2-hour massage typically costs $5-$10. Southern Style massage can be found easily in Bangkok and the southern islands. Northern Style can be found all across the north of the country.

Thailand is also known for erotic massage, called “Ab Ob Nuat”. It is usually obvious which kind of parlors are which, however, don’t be intimidated to enter any respectable-looking establishment. The Thai people are typically very friendly and gracious, so if it happens to be an erotic massage business you can ask for a traditional massage and they will usually be happy to accommodate you.

thai-massage-3There is more to Thailand than just beaches and parties, we hope travelers will have a wonderful time here. No matter what type of massages travelers wish to experience, it is satisfaction guaranteed.

“Giving Back” – The Project

Our Goal is to plant 1,000,000 trees over the next 20 years. Initiated in 2008, we have planted 7,200 flourishing plants in the rainforest so far.

Our" Village Green" program supports local villages by keeping roads clean, preserving. Thai culture and rainforest tree planting. We also support a very successful wildlife re-population program involving many native species.

We are partnering with the Thai Government so we can do the ultimate good... preserving Thailand’s precious eco-system.

We educate everyone about the rain forest eco-system. More than 1000 children per year, (mostly orphans and under privileged children) fly each year free of charge. Another 2000 children fly for a modest fee. Education and wildlife awareness are our major goals.
